Today, every second, two new climate refugees appear. It is estimated that by 2050, climate refugees will be nearly 250 million worldwide. This own challenge to climate change has become an undeniable reality yet it stills find no echo in international law. Indeed, the status of "climate refugee" has so far no legal value.

In relegating one of the major challenges of the twenty-first century, some may perceive it as minimal. It is therefore necessary to question the motivations that drive our current leaders to evade this problem and new challenges that will impact on Europe.

The objective of this conference is to bring first reflections on one of the twenty-first century major challenges. Like the "grassroots initiatives” for climate, the interest for the philanthropic sector is to grasp this and be proactive without waiting for the mobilization of the states on this issue. An angle of approach proposed for the event is to take as an example the Europe of today, its challenges and solutions, as a basis for reflection for the future.

Details about this event will be published soon.
